Pictures cropped when movie saved to mini DV

When I transfer my movie to my mini DV using the fire wire, many of the still
pictures in the movie have the edges cropped off (with necessary text). When
I save to my computer, these same pictures are not cropped and appear normal.
I'm using a Panasonic PV-GS31 mini DV camera. i've tried changing the aspect
ratio from 4:3 to 16:4, but the pictures are distorted, so that doesnt' help
me with the cropping problem. Can anyone help me prevent this cropping
problem when I save to my mini DV?

Thanks,

BW

I have the same experience:
Having reviewed the products I believe it is my video player that zooms
a bit and not the fault of any of the steps in the moviemaking process.
I'm afraid my solution is a custom title that puts the title low on the
picture but not so low it gets cut off.
Examples cam be found at moviemakers forum.

Along with a lot of other useful stuff.

Hope this helps

That's what's referred to as a safe title region. Most televisions and
consumer electronics devices chop off approximately 10% of the video or other
content around the edges of the screen. Computers display the entire video.
