Picture and Fax viewer

When I click on a GIF file, it open in the "Window's Picture and Fax viewer"
even though the icon shows it to be associated with Paint Shop Pro. How do
I change this default behavior and make the image open in PSP without having
to rt mouse click and select open with?

Try this:

Click Start | run | and type "regsvr32 /u shimgvw.dll"
Now, right-click the image file and choose Open-with.
choose your favorite application (say Internet Explorer) and select "always
use selected program......." checkbox at the bottom.
