Picasa Photos via Windows Mail (Vista)

Something is blocking my ability to send Picasa photos via my default email
provider ....Windows Mail. Picasa appears to try to go through sending
process but then I get a message "the email could not be sent". I have put
picasa on 'exceptions list' for the Windows Firewall. Any comments or
suggestions? Thanks.

What size is the photo you are tying to send. The problem is probably that
your ISP has a limit on the size of attachments. This can vary from 2MB to
5MB but is done in order to prevent slowdowns on e-mail sending and
receiving as well as means of helping to prevent spam from being sent from
their servers.

If Picasa can't reduce the size of the photo and understand, the size grows
somewhat when attached to an e-mail so the smaller the better, you can try
IrfanView, www.irfanview.com.

Thanks Michael,

Your reply helps further in the understanding of some of the system
operations.

I found the source of my problem. Although I have been using Microsoft Mail
for some time, I didn't have it designated as my default mail system. Not
sure why it wasn't set as my default system but once I did that the
photo/email operation from Picasa worked fine.

Thanks again for your input.

Thank you for posting back and letting me know. That's an excellent point
about designating your e-mail client and I overlooked that possibility but
this should remind me to mention that in the future with others having
similar issues.

Glad you got it worked out. Good Luck.
