Photoshop Image/Image Maps into Frontpage Border

Andrea

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem
and, if so, how they've solved it. I've created an image
with two image maps in Photoshop. I'd like to use it as
a top shared border in a Frontpage web, but can't get the
web to recognize this top.html file... the web just
displays some sort of default top border. I've saved the
PS file, per instructions, as a .html and image file and
placed it in the Borders folder of my web site. I can
open/edit this top.html file in Frontpage, but when I
check the Index page, just a default top border
displays. I'd be grateful for any help I can get with
this. Thank you.

You must insert the image, code into the top.htm file that FP creates in FP,
then save and the run Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks.

I'm not sure I understand. Would you mind telling me how
you insert the image and code into the top.htm file? I'm
trying to replace a previous shared border. I tried
opening this existing top.htm, deleting all the code, and
pasting the new code into this page. Then I saved it and
recalculated the hyperlinks. Now something odd happens.
If I open individual pages in the editor, the new shared
border is displayed, but if I preview the site in a
browser, the old shared border displays. I'm confused.

Ok, first when you have insert the image and HTML into the top share border
file, did you have a web open (File Menu | Open Web), or if using FP98, open
FPExplorer first?

If yes, when you originally applied shared borders, did you apply them to
the entire web or individual pages?

Have you run Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks?

Thank you so much for your help... I started over with my
backup copy, followed your instructions, and now
everything is working perfectly. Thank you again. I had
about given up.
