photos side by side in windows picture viewer

Is there any way I can get a preview pictures of my photos *side by side* in
windows picture viewer?

When i enlarge one from a 'thumbnail' and then enlarge another the first
one disappears. Comparing just thumbnails with each other (for the purpose
of deleting the inferior pictures) is a bit difficult since they are so
small. Appreciate any advice, thanks.

Download and use the free FastStone Image Viewer 3.6. It does this
and many other things. http://www.faststone.org/

Thanks Tony for suggesting FastStone. My new computer came with Picassa
which I tried for a while but just dumped. (It wanted to take control.)
I went back to my older viewer ACDSee which is no longer supported and
beginning to show its age. I installed FastStone and it looks like a
keeper. It's going to take a little getting use-to to all the new features.

Do check out all that it can do. I use it to view, re-number (my
files are date sequence: 2008-12-09-0001), view two at a time to
chose the best, and even for some potential crop and desaturate views
(click on the left side of the screen of an image). I don't actually
edit in FastStone, but I will use it to get a quick view of what
editing might do. Then I edit in Photoshop.

I see you are in Orlando. Ever try the Orlando Camera Club? I've
recently joined and found it very interesting and even participated in
the monthly competitions. Website at
http://www.orlandocameraclub.com/ No second meeting in December.
November's competition results are up now, but December's should be up
soon. The judging was last night.
