Personalize e mail message from distribution list

I have a distribution list of about 12 people in my Outlook 07 contacts. Is
there a way to personalize the Dear: "" in the message from this distribution
list when I send a e mail message to this list? Similar to mail merge in
Word.

No--one of the many reasons DL's are a poor choice for grouping recipients.
Had you used Categories instead (the intended replacement for DL's) you'd be
all set.

Can you tell me how to set up Categories? Meanwhile I will look on the
Office web site how to set up Categories
