Perr to Peer WiFi Network Problems

Mike

My neighbor has a peer to peer wi fi network using Linksys Wirelees - B 2.46
router, two XP home pcs w/ wireless nics and one toshiba wireless tablet.
He's using the wireless router as a switch, he doesn't have any internet
connection. From my house, using my wireless notebook computer, I can access
both of his pcs and the toshiba tablet. I noticed all three computers
belong to three different work groups. What does he need to do to secure
the network?
Like to configure it so nobody else can access his network.

Thanks,

Mike

On the wireless router he can enable either WEP [wireless equivalent
protocol] or WPA [wireless protected access] using preshared key
authentication. Both will encrypt the data and preshared key will only allow
users to access the network that know the preshared key which basically is a
password. Each of his wireless adapters will also need to be configured with
the same preshared keys. WPA is more secure than WEP due to the way
encryption keys are managed but the router and all wireless network cards
will need to be WPA compliant. The manual for router should have details. If
he can not find such tell him to go to the website for the manufacturer to
download the full manual. See the link below for more detailed
information. --- Steve

He showed me the toshiba tablet, which only works if WEP is disabled..
had a chance to look at the router settings.
