When creating a shortcut, the icon initially shows up as the blank/generic/no
icon. This happens with desktop shortcuts, start menu items (including
shortcuts to newly created apps), shortcuts on the QuickLaunch toolbar and
shortcuts created in an explorer window.
If I bring up the shortcut properties and change the icon, it doesn't fix
it, instead reverting back to the "no" icon. But if I do it a second time, it
works. Usually permanently, but occasionally it will revert at a later time.
I'd really appreciate your suggestions on a solution to this mystery.
