permissions and missing folders

We have some network folder missing. we enabled Object audit policy on the
network but hard to go through the event logs to find who deleted thses
folders.

I tried to remove the group delete permission which includes in Modify
permission but the users could not modify any files in the folder.

Any input and suggestions?

Try reducing what it is that you audit.
For example, only the needed folders and only for use
of delete, set using Edit within the Advanced view.
If the users need to modify files, then in general they
will need to be granted delete, so this is a user education
issue.
