permission to access a file

i went through the user-level security wizard and now when i try to open the
file
i get the following message
"you do not have the necessary permission to use the '-file name-' object
have your system administrator or the person who created this oject
establish the appropriate permissions for you"
how do i go about granting permisison.

Possibly Sounds like you may have named the workgroup differently to your
current user network workgroup , delete the security file and redo it with
the right workgroup name in

The wizard created a desktop shortcut for you to use to open your secure
mdb. Use that.

You are probably trying to open the mdb via a double-click in Windows
Explorer. If so you are opening it using the standard system.mdw workgroup
file and you don't have permission to open the mdb (and rightly so). You
need to use your secure mdw to open it, and that's what the shortcut does
for you.
