Performing an Authorative Restore of Active Directory in Win 2000 Server

I was practicing how to perform an authoritative restore
when I experienced the
following error after typing authoritative restore and
pressing enter at the
NTDSUTIL prompt step: Error: operation only allowed when
boot in DS repair
mode "set SAFE BOOT_OPTION=DSREPAIR to override-NOT
RECOMMENDED!. I got this
even though I was in Directory Services Restore Mode. Can
you please help me
to resolve this problem. Thanks.

Well if you are 1000% sure you are in DSRM, then go to the command prompt
and enter set SAFEBOOT_OPTION=DSREPAIR and retry ntdsutil. Now you can use
Authoritative Restore command.
