Hello,

I have Dell laptop with 1.6 Centrino, 256 MB memory and Windows xp pro.

everytime that i open software like Explorer, Office software and another
software that i run sometimes.

i ren Performance Monitor of Microsoft with the folowing counters wille 5
hours:

% DiskTime = average 0.9 max = 8.1

Current Disk Queue Length = average 0 = max = 0

Page Faults/sec = average = 108.2 max = 2168

Pge/sec = average = 6 max = 96

% Processor Time = average = 12 max = 80

Interrupts/sec = average = 307 max = 1168

what i have to upgrade in this case?

Thanks

More memory.. 512mb at least.. reduces coffee time though.. 1gb requires a
pre-made pot of coffee.. over 1gb and you will start to dehydrate..

As you can see, more memory is good for the computer, but can have adverse
effects on the operator.. :)

You may well have problems with spyware/malware, but put simply, 256mb is
not enough memory.. XP will run with 256mb but is substantially better with
512mb or more..

Also, if you turn off XP eye candy, that makes a perceptibly huge
difference.. so do you do any housekeeping at all?.. do you run Disk Cleanup
or Defragmenter?.. do you have Adaware, SpyBot or SpywareBlaster
installed?..
