Perfmon counters not available

Guest

I manage about 40 servers, some standard, some advanced and some 2003. When I
start perfmon on a few of them the default Processor, Memory and Disk
counters do not open and under the Add Counters list they do not show either.
I am not sure where to begin to troubleshoot this odd occurance. Some of the
servers have SQL Server and others do not, I cannot make a connection between
them all but I do need to run some perfomance monitoring but without the
CPU/RAM/HD counters I cannot get an accurate picture. Any help is greatly
appreciated.

You can Add/Remove them by regedit, but it's much easier to use exctrlst.exe
(Extensible Counter Listing Tool) from the resource kit to enable/ disable
the counters.
