Peer to peer problem

Hi
I have three xp pro sp2 computers, one on which i would like to use as a
srver, i have them to a point that i see all of them on each computer in the
workgroup area,named correctly, i have them attached to a Fios router ,
printers are working also , my problem comes i installed a software on all
three computers and if i use computer onr or two ( the non server units )
nothing updates on the main one or either computer, basically not sure i am
saying this right but they are not writing to eachother or updating eachther
in the software, can somene help

Hi Jim,

You'll have to be more specific as to what software this is.

Usually software is designed to run on one workstation unless it's
specifically for networks, and then can run a central database that all
workstations can access.

You sound like you're expecting your software on one workstation to
change the configuration or the data on another workstation. They most
likely weren't developed for that.

Jim,

Licencing issues could also come into play. Do you have enough to run on all
your machines?

If you have a central database application designed to run on XP rather than
a server you can then use the clients to connect to it
