peer to peer networking

I can't seem to get my network started. I am trying to
set up a peer to peer using 2 win 2000 laptops and 1 98.
I am all set with internet access on a netgear router.
What I can't do is see each other at all as a network. I
have pinged the IP's on each laptop and I am successful.I
created the workgroup but nothing is accessible; no one
can see each other. Each laptop is setup for automatic
DHCP. But, no one can read each other. And I haven't come
across any errors, it just says that "the server (name) is
not accessible. The list of servers for this group is
currently not accessible." All I want to do is utilize
perepherals from one laptop, a win 2000. The laptop I
want to share is all set up to share. I am book learned,
but a novice on 2000 professional. Can some one help!!!!!!

Sharing a W2K object has several parts. There must be a user account setup
on the machine and it must be given permissions on the shares. Then you
must login to the other computer WITH THAT ACCOUNT in order to access those
shares across the network.
This goes for the 98 computer as well. You must login to it using the
account you created on the W2K machine.
There are also NTFS permissions that can couteract your share permissions so
you need to be careful with those as well.

Hope this helps
