Peer networking only one way

D

David

On a Peer network with a XP Pro host and 2 clients with 98 on them I can
view files from the host, and transfer files to the clients etc. But I
cannot gain access from either of the clients running win98 into the XP
host. An Access Denied message appears.

I have print and file sharing ticked on all machines and no fancy access
rules in place that I know of. I have set the IP's as host 192.168.0.1 with
the clients running up xxx.2; xxx.3 etc. The gateway is set as the host,
DHCP is not set.

Any ideas please ??
David.

I am experiencing same issue.

I have two units running XP Pro. They are connected thru a gateway to
cable modem. Both can go out to the internet.

IPs 192.168.1.2 and x.3

From x.2 I can see shared drive on x.3 and can copy files into it.
From x.3 I can SEE x.2 computer but can not access shared drives or
printers on it.

I ran Network setup Wizard on both - File and Print Sharing is
enabled. I have them in the same workgroup. I have same user ID
established on both units with same password.

I am stomped - could someone help please?
