PDF printer driver?

have a HP 6110 all-in-one printer, using windows xp- home
had for a while and works great except will not save work
to PDF format for future forwarding to printer on
projects. I get a message"unable to initialize PDF
printer driver, try re-installing" have adobe 6.0 and
supposedly all drivers are installed unless my HP 6110
has a seperate configuration/ driver needed to
initialize, if so i can't locate it in HP or XP. seeking
advice to correct problem as using PDF forwarding of
projects will be quite time saving.

If I want to save a document as a PDF file (using Acrobat 5) I use File
Print and print it to the PDFWriter. (ie change the printer I'm printing
to). The PDFWriter appears as a printer (if 'virtual') in my Printers &
Faxes section.
