PDF Download Problem

In Google Books, I've been unable to download PDF files greater than 7.6 M in
size.
I've tried right-clicking and downloading directly, but this still occurs; I
get a file downloaded around this size that turns out to be corrupted.
I use Windows XP and Adobe Reader 7.0.9.
My cache size is set to 250M.
My connect rate is slow, but I've been able to download pdf files larger
than this on other websites. Any help appreciated, thanks.
