PCMCIA USB Card for old laptop

Does anyone know where I can find an older PCMCIA card for an older laptop?
A USB 1.0 card would be fine. Thanks!

Why would you want an older card or a USB1 card?

How about a new PCMCIA USB2 card? They're about $20 or so,
check pricewatch or one of the larger online computer
'sites. For an old USB1 card you'd probably want to check
ebay.

True. But they would be 'Cardbus', not the older PCMCIA.
Jason would need to verify first if his laptop supports Cardbus.
Otherwise, $20 would be a bargain. And a waiste :)

It seems I had seen a lot of products listed as PCMCIA but
were only cardbus. Perhaps searching for "PC Card" would
narrow the search results better.

You are correct, but my laptop doesnt seem to work with the newer Cardbus
cards. I have tried 5 of them. I wrote more details in a previous post:

I am trying to install a USB port on an older laptop (Toshiba Tecra, Pentium
1) for a friend. The laptop had Windows 98 SE. I tried 3 different PCMCIA
USB 2.0 Cards that claimed Win 98 compatibility, none worked.

I then went through the painfully slow installation of Win XP via creation
of 6 boot up disks and a 2 hour install. Then the big payoff....None of the
cards work with XP either. I put in a Netgear wireless card that I knew
worked, XP recognized it right away.

So my question is this: is it likely that the ports on an older laptop
aren't capable to handle the speed of USB 2.0? I looked all over Ebay for
an old PCMCIA USB 1.0 Card, but none are listed.

Does anyone have any suggestions? LOL, besides a new laptop?? My friend is
poor :(

Thanks,

Jason

Yep, PC Card is probably what I need, but I cant find any. Not even on
ebay. I was hoping somebody who wanted to upgrade to USB 2.0 would want to
sell one.
