PCdefense

A newspaper article touts PCdefense, which uses a Web-based anti-virus
program that's updated often, stops adware from finding a permanent spot on
the hard disc, blocks new spyware and gets rid of old stuff. It tells you
which programs start up and gets rid of cookies you don't want. It is very
suspicious of key logging programs.

Does anyone have any experience of knowledge of PC defense?

Please explain how a "web" application is going to run on your LOCAL
host when you are not connected to their web page to run all their
scripts and ActiveX controls. If you don't go there, how are they
going to run anything? If they install software on your host, then it
is NOT a web-based app, so it becomes just like all other anti-virus
programs that run locally and all that web-based crapspeak vaporizes.

Do you leave your spare tire and jack back in your garage? Well, how
are you going to use them when away from your garage? How are you
going to use a web-based app when you aren't at their web page?

I was just quoting what the article stated. From a link previously
furnished, PCdefense does not look like a good idea anyway.
