pc3200 work with a7v8x-mx ?

It says this motherboard a7v8x-mx will take upto pc2700, but can put put
pc3200 in it and will the ram just run at pc2700 speed ?

It should work, I never had a problem doing that with PC-66,100,133, you
may even be able to run the ram at lower latency settings since it wont
be running as fast as it's rated for.

No, but from what I understand of the KT chipset, I think the KT will
officially only take only one stick of pc3200 that it will run as pc3200

....but you will probably have to run it as a 4:5 ratio so as to get
166/200 - as the fsb will not probably go much above the 180Mhz mark - but
the better ram may or may not allow for a slightly higher fsb at a 1:1 ratio

I am toying with the idea of upgrading my 256Mb pc2700 - 512Mb pc3200
- but the KT400 chipset will not allow 200 fsb at 1:1
