PC to PC Serial Ports in XP

K

Kotuku84

I am running Windows XP Pro on this PC and XP Home on other PC.

XP seems to say I can link these 2 for file swapping ( if nothing else )
using Serial Ports,
So,
I tried to follow the steps
.... ... [ and "yes" it does mention "using Serial Port" ]
and get "nearly to end" but was hoping for some support
info before I continue ... ...
=and=
what cable-pin-to-pin do I use please ?

Start
Control Panel
Network Connections
Create a New Connection
Set up and Adv Connection ( using serial Port )
Connect driectly to another Computer
Appreciate guidance and/or direction to any docs that discuss this please ?

Thank you, Frank
