I tried turning my computer on today and it just didn't start...th
cpu will turn on but that's as far as it'll go...

It started a few days ago my brother was the one who told me that whe
he tried to turn the pc on, a couple of times a message would come u
that said something along the lines of "CPU unworkable o
changed go to settings" but after hitting F1 windows woul
start

Today it was different, when i tried starting it up the whole thin
turned on but i didn't hear the usual couple of beeps we get befor
the pc loads...i turned on the monitor but it said it wasn'
receiving any signal..

I thought that it may had something to do with the videocard but th
message my brother told me about makes me think it may be somethin
else?.

Sounds like the CMOS battery is getting old. You can test the voltage with a
voltmeter.

Could be power supply or motherboard. I had that happen to me and I fixed by
clearing the CMOS battery jumper. Hope you get lucky. Test the voltages from
power supply. Look for bulging or leaky capacitors on motherboard. Keep
replacing parts until fixed.

Was the computer overclocked? Try holding down ALT on the keyboard while
turning it on.
