PC Anywhere and XP SP2

Hi All;

Got a XP SP2 issue. I'm trying to use PCanywhere to remote into another
server off site.
The install is on XP Home SP2 but when I launch the remote app, it just
hangs and never connections for authentication.
I can run the same version, same config from my office on Win2k Pro and I
connect and authenticate w/o any issues.
I have even turned off the firewall on XP but to no avail. Any ideas would
help.

TIA,
Steve

You are comparing Apples to Oranges, as XP Home and XP Pro do not have the
same networking capabilities, to include remote networking.
My first suspect would be the XP version, XP Home versus the XP Pro.
What does the "Symantec" site say about PCAnywhere and its use on XP Home?
What about it's support of XP SP2? SP2 may not be supported by the
particular version PCAnywhere.

Well I know my PCAnywhere is Ver9 and when I even go to install it I get
warning about OS (Pro-SP2). Damn it, as it works perfectly for what I want
on my in-house ethernet with the 98SE pc's.
Upgrade appears to be buy new version.

Version 10.5 was the "first" version that really worked on XP. Version 11.0
is alot better but does not offer "good" DOS windows support. And version
11.0 still works in Win98.
