patch for svchost.exe error

At annoyance.org (win 2000 forum) there were numerous
posts on this very problem "svchost.exe error" screwing
up a lot of people's computers, mine included!

Pay attention to the operating system (nt, 2000, server,
etc) and be sure and select the right one. below is the
link to that download, it worked for me!Download and
install this patch. It worked for me.

The patch worked for me too......except explorer.exe
crashes as soon I enter Windows 2000.
Anyone know how to restore explorer.exe?
Could it have become corrupted as a result of this problem?
Can one replace explorer.exe from someone elses computer
(I'm W2000,sp2) without having to reinstall Windows 2000
(what a nightmare that would be, as I have over 50
applications)....
