password protection for folders

Simple question: Can you password protect a folder or a CD and if so how

I want to transport some documents from work to home on a CD-RW but just to be careful I want to either password protect the folder containing my files or the actual disc

This would be much easier than putting a password on each and every file.

It's much more simple to compress the files or folders with any program
winrar, winzip and transport them on the CD that way :)
