Password Policy

We are about to turn on the password parameters in the group policy. I'm
trying to get confirmation on one thing. Does the password expiration begin
from the date the policy is turned on, or from the last change date? We want
to turn it on and have it notify for 7 days that's the password has expired.
We are setting 90 days as the max age for the password. If it is based on
the time the policy is turned on, we won't get notified for 83 days that's
it's time to reset the password. If it's based on the last time it was
changed, everyone will have to change it that day. Suggestions for how
others have done it, or confirmation on how it calculates?

Once you turn it on, it is based upon each user's last change date.
