Password not working

We have one computer that will not allow you to put a password or encrypt a
document. You can try to put a password on a document save it and reopen and
it acts like the password was never there. If you're trying to open a
password protected document it tells you that the password isn't
correct.....but it is. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Office, critical
updates are done, and even reset the security settings thinking maybe they've
messed around with them. Online info no help so I'm hoping someone has ran
into this issue. I've checked the macros and they are enabled. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

Took your advice and cleaned out all the .tmp files per document, and
searched for anything additional that I might have missed. Still no luck.
This computer has an ID badge software/printer installed on it. Could it
possibile be interferring with the office some how? I keep coming back to the
printer and software as this is the only computer having issues.
