Password Managers & Firefox?

I am looking for a freeware password manager for use with Firefox. I see
where Firefox has memorized passwords for some of the sites I have visited
but I don't understand how to get it to fill them in automatically.
Help please. If I am misunderstanding this casn anyone recommend an add-in
that will do this?

Thanks in advance... Bob

The built-in password manager is quite good. You can configure it at
tools > options > privacy > passwords. But will not offer to remember
passwords for some sites such as Yahoo! Mail that tell your browser to
turn off autocomplete. The way to get around this is to get the
"remember password" bookmarklet. Just drag it to your bookmarks
toolbar. Then when you visit a new password-protected site, fill in
your username and password, but right before clicking "submit", click
the bookmarklet, and if the site is trying to turn off autocomplete, it
will be overridden.

Thanks, I'm having one problem though. For a few sites I told the pop-up
window not to memorize the log-in now the box asking me to memorize does not
come up again when I visit that site. If I've changed my mind how to I get
an opportunity to tell Firefox to memorize for that site?

Thanks again... Bob

You're the guru. I have one site that seems to delete the password
just as Firefox looks at it, so I get the login saved but with no
password. Is there any Firefox add-in that will allow me to add
passwords to already-remembered sites? (I assume that they must be
encrypted somehow, so it's not as simple as finding where they're
stored and adding a password by hand.)
