Partitioning problem with PartitionMagic 7.0

Dear Friends,

1) My system runs on Winxp Professional. I have a harddisk (80G) with 3
partitions, all formated as NTFS as follows:
C:20G
D:20G
E:40G

2) Recently, I tried to use PartitionMagic 7.0 to increase the space for C:.
I did so by doing a "resize" on C.
and drawing the free space from D or E drive. However the following message
appeared:

"Access violation at address 052DC00 in module 'PMagicNT.exe'. Read of
address 00000008."

3) I did not encounter such problem last time.

Can any kind soul please offer me any advice?

Thanks alot,
Merrvyn

I've used PM for many years and will swear by it, but I would never try
performing what you want to do from within Windows. Yes, it's supposed to
work (and usually does), but trying to make such a major change to the
Windows partition while you're booted into Windows is a little like trying
to change a car tire while you're in the car driving. For your task, my
suggestions would be to run PM from floppies ("rescue disks") and to perform
the steps one at a time -- resize D and E first to leave unallocated space,
then resize C to take up that space. Trying to do too many steps at once
sometimes causes problems.
