I have two partitions in my laptop C and D
C has 32GB free of 52GB and D has 52GB free. I would like to have one larger
C partition and get rid of partition D. Could some one let me know how can I
achieve this and please let me know step by step method and I am not sure
about using any third party utility. Thank you in advance.

DO you know that you have a tendency to post inaccurate stuff that are
misleading most of the time?

Hahahaha...is that a joke or what? It's you who constantly post your
lying rants about Vista. No one else even comes close and we all know it.
This function exists as decoration because most of the time partition
resizing fails...!!!

You'd need to actually have Vista in order to test that statement...you
don't...so just STFU!
Vista fails in every way!

You have failed in every attempt. You're mental illness is evident to all.
For the OP, the best way is to get Paragon Partition Manager 8.5

Acronis is better.
Idiot!

Take a look in the mirror, Partition Magic is now owned by Symantec and does
not work on Windows Vista.

Bad news but it certainly helps explain your fukked up delusional

Sorry, but there is no help for that problem so you'll just have to live

But thanks for the heads up! At least we all know what happened to you.
Pity.

Tell me frank all the recipies you use for your vista dvds.. we can make a
cookbook,
"the vista dvd cookbook for dummies".

Put 2 freshly bought Vista dvds in the oven to broil for 20 minutes, take
one more and grind it up into dust, add half a cup of inkjet ink stir until
the mixture is thick, add spices to make a nice stinky aero vista sauce....
take the 2 dvds out and pour the sauce on top... serve on plate along with
cut up retail vista boxes on the side...

enjoy your meal.. vista ala crap, from our chef Frank Retardo... lol

Hi folks
I tried Disk Management tool and I found the following
8GB of backup partition followed by C(Acer) 52GB followed by D(Data) 52GB.
when I right click C partition there is only shrink option available but not
extension(it is greyed out) when I right click D partition both options
available. Could you any one please tell me if I shrink(or delete ) the D
partition then I can extend the C partition. And if any thing goes wrong can
I revert back to my original state. I have no important information on D
partition and it is empty. I will not do anything in a rush and I will wait
for your opinions how to go about.
Thank you all in advance and your contributions are appreciated.

Hello...

I will tell you how I set up all the comptuers that pass through my hands
since I think it is the best way to do things when you have 1 disk.. I have
been a professional for more than 10 years
and I have concluded to a system that works well.

I always have 2 partitions on the first drive, on one partition I have ONLY
windows and programs...

and on the second parition (in your case D) I have all the personal data,
and NOT inside the DOCUMENTS default location.

all important information is on D! So I would advise you to put your data on
D
and leave C as empty as posible.. thats how Acer also thought was good..
because they call D the DATA partition...

What is the good thing about this structure? Well if something goes wrong
and you need to format and re-install windows, you can format ONLY C,
leaving D intact with all the data there...

Even better yet is to have 2 disks (thats what I have here on this pc) so
that if the first disk dies..
my second disk with the data is saved.. since C gets more wear and tear ....

I have ways for making the DOCUMENTS folders as well as the email storage to
be on D,
as well as the desktop itself.. so nothing important is left on C...

if you play around with the sizes, things can go wrong yes... but of course
everything CAN be fixed if you format and start again..

tell me if you need any help.

The people who designed this Disk Management tool have made a mistake
because the Partitioning requirements vary among the users. Some users
prefer single partition or different sized partitions. For me the C
partition will get filled up quickly and I will be left with lot of space in
D partition. If they have made the partition tool simpler it would have been
easier for novices like me to handle the situation better. I have to mention
here that my knowledge of computers is limited and you guys with vast amount
of experience can enlighten me because learning is a fantastic experience.
Thank you all.

paragon partition manager can resize the partitions "on-the-fly".. version
8.5 is compatible and doesnt run into problems like the built in and
pathetic vista disk managment..

Thats my advice.. go visit the paragon site and take a look

I have successfully used the Disk Management within the system and deleted D partition and extended the C partition. I do apologise to Microsoft for complaining that the utility was not simple enough. It was my fault that I didn't know how to use it. I did this to suit my requirements but I am not in a position to tell others to do the same because every one have their own way of doing things.
Thank you all for your contributions.
