Partition Problems

I have a computer that has 2 DVD drives and 3 hard drives installed.
Originally it came with just one DVD drive and one hard drive. I then added
the second optical drive and the two additional hard drives. The hard drives
are as follows: #1 (original) 40GB SATA; #2 80GB IDE; #3 40GB IDE. Drives
2 and 3 are partitioned into 20GB .

The drive letter assignments are as follows:
A: Not Used
C: Drive #1 Part #1 (Windows Main)
D: Drive #2 Part #2 (System)
E: DVD Drive (Original)
F: Drive #2 Part #1
G: Drive #2 Part #2
H: Drive #2 Part #3
I: Drive #2 Part #4
J: DVD Drive #2
K,L,M: All-In-One Card Reader
N: Drive #3 Part #1
O: Drive #3 Part #2

Recently I removed one of the DVD drives from the system. When I booted
back up, I noticed that drive O didn't have a file system type associated
with it and had no size listing. When I tried to open this drive I get a
message saying that the drive wasn't formatted and asked if I would like to
do so (I didn't).

I have searched through the newsgroups and could not find a solution to my
problem. I did see answers regarding the boot drive, but not secondary drive.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Re-install the DVD, see if you get back what you lost.
If so then use Disk Manager to lock the drive letter.
Start/Admin Tools/Computer Management/Disk Management,
Right click on the drive, select change drive letter & paths, select Change
Now select the letter you want the drive to be, if its not 'O' then pick it
from the list.
Then click OK! It should now stick after you remove the DVD drive.

Nope, didn't work. I have read in other posts that Master Boot Record
sometimes needs to be fixed in this case. Any thoughts?

Is drive 3, partition #1 still shown/listed as drive letter 'N'?
If so does it contain what it should in the way of files and folders?

I tried re connecting the drive and it still the same.

I thought I might add that the drive letters have never changed throughout
this whole ordeal.

Yes, ALL the other drives are just fine. Both files and drive letters are
undisturbed

Well, I got it all figured out. I was getting a little frustrated with
those recovery programs so I decided to run CHKDSK on the partition. So I
ran "CHKDSK /r" on the drive and, although it took forever, everything is
just as it was before. Thanks for all your help!
