i've done some searching and cant find any help for this -I'll try to cut
this short -changed mobo/cpu -put in two pata 200gb hd from old pc -1rst
master is one partition xp home.-2nd slave has 2 partitions -xp media 40gb
size. 2nd partition free for data 160gb size. useing bootit ng interface.
problem- slave drive 160gb partition does not show in my computer only 40gb
xp media partition and master xp home. conversely if i boot into xp media,
same shows -in both os's 160gb partition shows in disk management as healthy
(unknown partition), but only right click option enabled is delete partition.
it also has no drive letter and cannot be assigned one. it is no hidden
partitions in bootit. i cant find much info on web about this- this is my
most important partition to me, as i kept all data that i did not want to
lose on it, and now i cant access it thru windows, either home or media
-anybody -help?

I sense a contradiction here. You write "i kept all data that i did not
want to lose on it". People who don't want to lose their data back
it up. Disk space is cheap. Where is your backup?

If this was my PC then I would stop experimenting immediately and
connect the disk as a slave disk to some other PC. If this did not
work then I would reconnect the old motherboard, then create the
long overdue backup. If the old motherboard won't see the missing
partition then it's probably a trip to some data recovery service. If
a total loss is not the end of the world then one of these tools may
help. Using them includes an obvious risk.
