Partially formatted External Maxtor 3000DV Firewire drive in Win XP

Oh, no! I cancelled a full format of my Maxtor 3000DV external FW
Drive to allow my wife to use the computer since it was taking too
long. Now the Drive is seen as Logical Unit Number 0 in device manager
and is recognized there, but is not assigned a letter and won't show in
my computer or any type of disk management or in DiskPart at the Cmd
prompt.

The amber and green lights go on and the disk is definitely spinning.
WHAT TO DO?????

I have no idea what problem you've caused.

You could try this:

"Using MaxBlast to prepare External Storage Hard Drives
for use with Windows - Based Computers"

Thanks so much, Paul. Using MaxBlast4 for Windows solved the problem:
partitioned and reformatted the drive easily and without pain!!!

Cheers,

JRW
