Parasites and passwords

I recently found out that my computer had spyware,
parasites, etc by using Spybot S&D and Adaware. These
were causing the IE6 address bar to malfunction. Would it
have been possible for these unwanted programs to have
transmitted the passwords that I used to access secure
websites?
