Parallel to USB converter?

Hello all,

I need to connect an old OS/2-based system (yes - I know, but the app
running on it it's not due to be retired for another two years) to a new
printer that only has a USB parallel port on it. I have seen plenty of
USB (PC) to parallel (printer) converting cables, but does anyone know
of ones that work the other way - ie parallel (PC) to USB (printer)?

Yeah, got one sittle across the room from me that I bought to attach a
parallel Xerox laser printer to a new laptop. Never could get the
damn printer to work with it. The drivers would install perfectly
but, when it came time to print, the computer could never "find" the
printer. I suspect it was because the printer is not a USB 2.0 device
and my hub is 2.0.

I bought it at Radio Shack. Don't recall the exact price ... think it
was around $49.

No. USB is too complex to "make" from an LPT port. You will need to get a
compatible printer, and that proable means getting something older.
