Paragraph-level bullet/text builds

In the presentation I'm creating, on some slides, I want to have each new
bullet (and its sub-bullets) appear and then dim on click. On others that
have one main bullet and a lot of sub-bullets, I want to have each sub-bullet
appear and dim on click.

So far, the only way I've found to do either of these things is to
individually custom animate each bullet (or individual sub-bullets, in the
second case), choosing Appear and Dim separately for each bullet (and/or
sub-bullet) one at a time.

Could anyone tell me a more efficient way to do this?

Thanks in advance for your help!

MaggieS,
Have you considered using an animation scheme. There is one that just does
what you are after.
It is called appear and dim (subtle section). Go to the animation scheme
task pane, select your slide click on the animation.
If you want to appear each level bullet separately, do the same, double
click the first entry in the custom animation task pane, on the text
animation tab, choose group text by level 2.... That should do it.
That is if I understood your problem correctly.

Thank you, Luc - I was looking for something like that, but I couldn't find
the text animation tab. Just found it - and it's exactly what I wanted. :)

Thanks again!
