Paper size

I send a client of mine Word documents with the paper size set to A4. When
she receives it, it defaults to print the document using letter paper size.

Firstly, why does this happen?
Secondly, what needs changing?

I would be grateful if somebody could point me in the direction of a good
article about conflicting settings and problems associated with sending
around documents created with different Normal templates

Your recipient has "Allow A4/Letter paper resizing" checked n the Print tab
of Tools | Options.
