Panda Anti-Virus and Low Protection status

Hello All,

I recently installed Panda Anti-Virus Titanium on my sister's computer; this
was after having satisfactory results with Panda products on my own PC. My
sister's computer is running Win XP Home SP1, and is set up with two user
accounts.

The problem we are having with the above Panda set up, is that every so
often the automatic update and protection facilities stop working or turn
off, we have tried enabling them and everything appears ok, however when I
close and re-open the programme I get a message saying that automatic
protection is disabled.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the programme, and just about
everything else I can think of. But my sister keeps getting a message saying
that Panda Anti Virus is only providing low protection.

I can usually get the programme running again by reloading a back up image
of C:, however within a week or so the same low protection message
reappears.

If anyone can point me in the direction of a cure, or possible reason for
this problem, I will be most grateful.

Regards,

You perhaps have a running program that's interfering with the antivirus.

Try logging in to safe mode using an Administrator level account (tap f8
while the computer is booting up) and do a full virus scan using Panda.

If that doesn't turn up anything then have a look at the programs that start
up when you log on eg using this freeware

http://www.snapfiles.com/get/autoruns.html

Make sure you can identify each program listed, as loading at startup . Put
the file name into Google if you're not sure about it.

Another thought .

If it's a newer version of Panda it may include some kind of Product
Activation, that restricts you to using it on one PC only.

Hello,

Thanks for the suggestions, and I was wondering if perhaps something was
interfering with the Panda start up, as this always seems to happen after
the PC has been connected to the Internet.
