Pagefile and RAM

I have a notebook with Turion64X2-TL50 (1.6GHz).HDD=100GB, RAM=1GB. Pagefile
allocated is 2GB. PagefileUsage is 700MB.Consequently thre is lot of Hard
Disk activity. If I upgrade my RAM can I bring down pagefile usage? If yes
how much RAM should I upgrade to?, so as pagefile usage is minimum (almost
Zero).

You might decrease it some...
But without knowing what you utilize it for - I cannot say for sure.

i guess u can't add much RAM in a notebook.
use counter log in "Performance" to monitor the usage of pagefile, if the
maximum usage of pagefile is 1GB, then try add 1GB RAM, then turn off
pagefile.

i guess u may be able to do some registry tweak to make sytem use RAM in
high priority, may be others can help u.

Any advise is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.

You should NEVER turn off the pagefile. There are some Windows functions
that will not function without it. Set it to a minimum, yes. But do NOT
turn it off.
