Page numbers and endnote problems

Hey, I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me
out with a little problem I am having with my document in
word. I am writing my Masters Thesis and I have to put
all pages in one document. The problem is, the first five
pages cannot have a page number and page 6 has to be
labled page 1 and go on from there. I don't know how to
do that and have tried pretty much anything I could think
of. Also, I have endnotes and some items that I have to
add in at the end. Word won't let me add them because it
is classifying everything after the endnotes as an
endnote. I don't know how to stop the endnote formatting
at the end of the page. If anyone can let me know how to
accomplish these things or where I can find the answer, I
would be so appreciative. Thanks!

Robin

For the page numbering, see
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Numbering/PageNumbering.htm.

For the endnotes, the solution will depend on which version of Word you have
(which is why it is always a good idea to include this information). If you
have Word 2000 or earlier, you have no choice but to put all the end matter
before the footnotes and fudge the page numbering, then rearrange the pages
after printing.

In Word 2002, you can choose "End of section" instead of "End of document"
for the endnote placement and then, for every section except the one where
you want the endnotes, check the "Suppress endnotes" box on the Layout tab
of Page Setup.
