Page Numbering MS Word

I have been trying to number my pages. The way he wants it done is begin with document page 6 (where chapter one begins) and running through dcoment page 24 (end of chapter 9). He was continuous page numbering, centered in the footer, times new roman 10pt font. No added page numbers should appear on the first five pages nor the last document page (he has placed lower case i through iv in the document on these pages). I've done section breaks, then did a footer to start my page number at 6 but it keeps numbering the other pages (even after I uncheck the box show page number on first page). Any advice. Please help.

Make sure "Same as Previous" is turned off in all your
footers before you start working in them.
