Page Number, Date and Table of Contents are gone

I am using MS Office Professional Edition 2003. Starting from last week, I do
not see the page number, date, time, Table of Contents, List of Tables, and
List of Figures from all of my existing WORD document. I only see Page {PAGE}
of {NUMPAGES}, {DATE \@ "M/d/yyyy"}, {TIME \@ "h:mm:ss am/pm"}, {TOC \h \z \c
"Table"}, and {TOC \o "1-3" \h \z \u}.

I uninstalled the entire MS Office application from my drive, and
re-installed the same version from the CD. I have the same result. I only
installed the WORD 2007, EXCEL 2007 and PowerPoint 2007 Viewer a week before.

Please help how I can see the page numbers, date, time in the Footer, and
Table of Contents again. Thank you.

What you have done is toggle on the field codes. Press ALT+F9 to toggle
back to the results of the field.

BTW - uninstalling and re-installing an application rarely fixes
problems.

Thank you. It is back to normal right now. It shows the page number in the
Footer and Table of Contents.

Did I press any key(s) before, so that I cannot see the results of the
field? Please advise. I just want to know the root cause of my problem.

You probably pressed Alt+F9. As Dawn said, this is a toggle setting
(Show/Hide Field Codes).
