Page Cannot Be Displayed

Guest

I am using IE6 SP1 on Win2K.

Some sites load fine - such as www.games.com

Other sites - such as www.trendmicro.com - yield "Page Cannot Be Displayed."

Neither www.games.com nor www.trendmicro.com are secure sites.

I noticed that I had on 56 bit cypher strength, so I loaded the High
Encryption pak. Now, I have the full 256 bit cypher strength, but the "Page
Cannot Be Displayed" problem still exists.

Respond to (e-mail address removed).

Thanks!

Hi,

Have you considered the possibility of a HOSTs file misconfiguration?

Try the following:

1) Disable all suppression programs (including pop-up blockers, ad blockers,
or the like).

2) Click on Start, then Search for Files and Folders.

3) Search your computer for all files (including system and hidden files),
named 'Hosts'.

The file you are searching for should be in
"C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc" for XP, and your windows directory for all
other Window versions. It does not have an extension, and will be spelled
exactly as you searched it, "Hosts".

4) Confirm its filename (Hosts), and its location, then rename the file to
'Hosts.zo.bk'.

Try reconnecting.

If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to reply,

Best regards,

Altrus
