"Page Cannot Be Displayed" Error

PC has W2k Pro SP2. After performing the Windows Updates
and latest NAV Updates, IE came up but displayed the error
message and I couldn't open any web sites. I can't ping
any of the web sites or their IP addresses either. I can
get on AOL and browse but I can't access any secured sites.
I scanned for viruses and found none. I reapplied the RPC
patch using MS instructions to no avail. I installed SP4
to no avail.
I need help!!

Your updates may have changed your secruity settings to a more restrictive
set. Check at Tools Menu ->Internet Options... dialog box, Security Tab.
The Custom Levels... button will show you the relevent settings.

After researching and trying everything under the sun, I
discovered the Administrator account was corrupted.
Creating profiles with Admin rights was to no avail. I
found it quicker to configure a brand new HDD and slave
the old one to it to transfer all the files needed.

It's working like a charm!
