Package for CD: Doesn't show textboxes

I created a Presentation using Powerpoint 2003.
It's a photo album with a text box on each slide and animated text on
the first and last slides.
I package to a folder ('Copy to CD' doesn't work - can't find the CD
Drive and won't recognize a blank CD-RW) and then burn the folder's
contents to a CD-RW.
When I run it, it proceeds from slide to slide but text boxes and
animations do not appear!
I have used the 'embed fonts' option to no avail.
I also have the trial copy of Office 2007 on the same PC.
XP Home SP2 with all Windows and Office updates.
The Presentation is rather large - 230MB.

Any thoughts?

Use the package for CD, and select the Copy to Folder option, then use your
CD burning software to copy the file to your CD

Yup, as I said in my post, thats exactly what I did.

Your absolutely correct, you did say that.Need to clean my glasses. What
software are you using to burn your CD?

I've used both 'Plextor Plextools Professional' and 'Nero Burning ROM'.
However, since my last post I've been experimenting.
I created a test presentation with just 3 images and animated text and
text boxes, burnt it to a CD and Viola! It works.
So it seems possible that the problem is related to the size of the
presentation.
The presentation that doesn't work is over 230MB in size!
I assume that, since it takes quite a while to load and run initially,
the whole presentation is loaded into memory prior to running.
Although I have a gig of RAM on my test PC it's probably not enough.
So, all that work for nothing. I will have to look for an alternative to
Powerpoint in order to create my self-running Photo Album.
Unless you have any other ideas...

Thanks

I would first look into why the file is so large to begin with.

Why are my PowerPoint files so big? What can I do about it?

Thanks. I checked through that and most of it I have set up anyway.
Well, I know why the file is so large. It's because it contains 60 plus
images.
So, it's goodbye Powerpoint for this project at least.

Thanks for your suggestions.

There's really no reason 60 images should weigh in at 230MB.

Okay. But I still think this should be salvageable.

Yes, they do weigh in at 230MB. Now I realize that I could reduce that
somewhat by compressing them and maybe reduce the dimensions of a few
but that would take a while to do. Maybe I could shave a 100MB off the
total size that way but as far as I'm aware, the same problem could
occur, wasting yet more time.
It seems the root of the problem is that Powerpoint insists on loading
the entire file prior to running it. I suppose that's how it has to
work. But if a 230MB plus presentation won't run with a gig of RAM then
a 130MB presentation might not run either, and any less RAM (which could
easily be the case on a recipients PC) is likely to be problematic.
So I'm now looking at other options:
Google's Picassa does a similar job but without Text animations and no
control over design/Layout.
There are numerous other options such as making a movie (I'm just about
to try MS Photo Story)but once again I haven't found any so far with
Text animation.
It's a shame cos I really like Powerpoint - so easy to make
professional-looking shows.

Thanks anyway
