P4G8X and SATA booting

Hi,

Ive just bought an S-ATA drive to use as my system drive. I have
installed in on the the SATA1 connector, disabled my IDE drives, set
boot preference as CD then SCSI and put my XP CD in the drive but when I
boot up, all I get after POST is 'press a key to reboot'. Now, if I
disconnect the SATA and plug an IDE drive back in it boots from the CD
perfectly, connect the SATA with the IDE drive still attached and I get
the same error.

Any ideas anyone?

cheers

Just answering my own question in case anyone runs into this in the
future. Updating to the 1006 BIOS solved the problem. Works great.

Thanks

I am thinking of setting up a sata drive, do you know if ghost will work
between the ide drive and the sata drive?

TIA

I can't see why not. Should be fine. make sure you install the S-ATA
drivers onto your current system first.
