P4C800E-Deluxe still has no video on boot after a second P4 3.2E GHZ HT 1
Meg L2 90mm CPU was installed.
I have tried bios versions 1017 to 1021.
Then when I swapped in my Celeron 1.8GHZ that I had running previously, I
get the bios telling me that Ide Drive detection failed. No primary &
secondary ide drives are seen. And the floppy drive light stays on.

When I tried to EZ flash, the bios message says the search for floppy failed
then the search for the cdrom failed. This message kept repeating. The
floppy & the cdrom aren't spinning up during the search though. That's
because Ide detection failed.

I wonder what the heck happened?

Has the floppy cable been accidently reversed ? If the
cable is rotated, the floppy light will stay on.

Otherwise, it sounds like your motherboard has a major
sickness. If you are still within the return period with
your vendor, return it for another board. For the
variety of symptoms you've got, it sounds like there is
more than one fault on the board.
