P4C800 ED and video card problem

I replaced my FX5200 video card with an FX6600 GT. After installing the card
and loading latest drivers, it works fine until I shut down for long periods
of time, like overnight. The machine starts and the screen goes gray. If I
shut down and restart, it'll work properly all day. The manual says I need
to assign an irq to vga, but I can't find any setting in bios to do this
any help would be appreciated

Hello.

I've fitted the same motherboard recently, and also a a GeForce 6600 AGP
card, with no problems.
However, this is what you can do:
Go into the Control Panel; Device Manager; Display Adapters. Press the "+"
sign, and your card details should appear.
Double click on your card's details, and you will get your card's
"Properties".
Click on "Resources".
If you look at the "Resource settings" you should see your IRQ (in my case,
it's 16).
_If_ there is an IRQ conflict, it should tell you there; and you should be
able to select another one.
Change from "Auto" to "Manual" setting.

Sylvain.
