P4C800-E Dlx and Intel Inf Update program?

I just got my new PC4800-E dlx Win XP system up and running. I noticed that
the Intel Inf Update license readme states that "this application may
contain Alpha or Beta code". Are these chipset drivers or some sort of
automatic update routine? Is it necessary to install the Inf Update program
for optimal MOBO operation? THANKS!!!

The INF update should have been the first thing you installed after the OS.
You can (and should) still install it now but be on the lookout for
problems - you may need to reinstall some device drivers after doing this,
if things act up.

Thanks for the information, I hadn't installed any device drivers yet. I was
waiting to see what you kind folks had to say about this program.....:^)
Looks like all is well after the Update Inf install...
